Hang Drum Solo
So, how old do you think this instrument is? Well, it's still in a "beta"!!! The first prototype version was produced in Switzerland 2001, and by now, there is only around 5000 instruments available. The Hang drum is so difficult to get hold of because the company that produces them can't manufacture any new once, because they're still doing reasearch on which material they should use for the instrument! It is THAT new! And if you want to get one, please sign the form, and pray that the company "selects" you to come and pick an instrument up in Basel, so that you can entitle yourself Hang-player!
Last time a fully acoustic instrument was developed was in the '50s and that was the steeldrum, which the Hang-drum is based on.
You know that scene in StarWars, when they enter a bar, and all the aliens are playing weird instruments, and stuff like that? That's NOW! And it's the HANG drum that they're playing! (So, if you fill in the form, make sure to tick the checkbox that sais "extraterestial") ;-)
